Our Student Leadership Team is central to shaping the culture and ambition of our Sixth Form. Recently, members shared how experiences with the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Baltic Research Institute are building their professional foundations. Beyond leadership, we welcomed the L.F.C. Foundation for a wellbeing session on managing exam stress. We also highlight Jack in Year 12, whose pioneering work in cybersecurity exemplifies the drive of our students.

Building the Portfolio Top Tech Employers Want

One of our Year 12 students, Jack, is already building an impressive profile in cybersecurity and software development. He is working on real-world cybersecurity projects and has created his own home lab.

Through the support and connections available at The Studio School and Liverpool Life Sciences UTC. Jack has worked closely with teachers such as Enda Carey and industry professionals such as Alex Lennon, founder of Dynamic Devices, gaining insight into areas such as NFC security, IoT protocols and emerging wireless technologies. He is also engaging with work experience initiatives at Beat Modules.

What stands out most is Jack’s drive beyond the classroom. From developing AI-powered tools and creating a fully developed revision website, he is actively building the skills and experience that employers are looking for.

Sickness Procedure

From a safeguarding perspective, students who indicate they are feeling unwell will not be sent out of class as an unwell/injured student unaided may faint on the stairs or corridor. Staff will call first aid and first aid will go to the student. Students should not contact home themselves when they are unwell; staff will call parents/guardians if needed.

Personal Electronic Devices Policy Reminder

All personal electronic devices, including mobile phones, are not permitted to be used during the school day. We expect all devices to be switched off and kept out of sight during lessons unless the pupil is using the device as part of a lesson with the permission of their class teacher.

Mobile phones will be confiscated if they are seen, heard or used during the school day unless a pupil has been given permission. The headteacher will determine the length of time they deem proportionate for confiscation.
