I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break! As we begin a new academic year, I’d like to extend a warm welcome back to our returning students and staff, and a special welcome to those joining us for the first time. This year brings exciting opportunities for growth, learning, and success. Let’s approach the year ahead with positivity, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. I look forward to seeing the incredible achievements we’ll accomplish together. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Ignite’s Induction

Last week’s Student Induction Programme kicked off with a warm welcome from the Principal, introducing the Six for Success values: Respect, Punctuality, Professionalism, and the importance of rigour and consequences. Students had the opportunity to explore key areas of the campus, learn how to use the refectory, and meet their form tutors. The day included a tour of the building, setting up lunch cards, and a session on resilience and empathy. Students wrote letters to their future selves, attended an E-safety briefing, and were introduced to ProjectBased Learning and Google Classroom. The day ended with a debrief and a look ahead at what’s to come.

Year 10s Induction

Year 10s Induction Programme welcomed both new and returning students with a dynamic start. After a presentation from Enda and John in the cinema and dance studio, students were assigned a challenge as their induction project. Form tutors mixed new and returning students into groups, fostering collaboration from the outset. In computer rooms, students researched their chosen project areas, designed their ideas, and worked together to create their final presentations using Google Slides or Sites. It was an exciting and creative way to kick off the year!

Year 12s Induction

Year 12 received a comprehensive introduction to life in CUC6. Students collected their timetables and learnt about the structure of the day, including key timings. They were introduced to their teachers and coaches, gaining insight into the role of coaching and how it supports their academic journey. The programme also covered the high standards and expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement, setting the tone for a successful year ahead as CUC6 students.

Ignite Egg Challenge

On Thursday, Year 9 were tasked in small groups to build a case out of cardboard, newspaper and tape so that when they put the eggs inside and dropped them from a height the egg wouldn’t crack which in effect softened the impact.

Year 11 PBL Challenge

Year 11 took on a challenge to build a tower that was both tall and capable of supporting the greatest weight. With just 20 pieces of spaghetti and a small piece of blu-tack, students showcased their creativity and engineering skills. Well done to Joseph, Saleh, and Elo, who built an impressive 22cm tower that held a remarkable 170g!

Ignite Sports Day at North Liverpool Academy

This week’s Sports Day was a fantastic success, with students showing great sportsmanship, energy, and teamwork throughout all the events!
