The session started with introductions, an overview of the course, and contextual information about digital design and development. Students were introduced to the importance of thinking logically in programming and problem-solving.

Students were taught to program drones using Python, with a series of challenges. These activities combined hands-on programming with the immediate application to a tangible task, helping students understand coding concepts in action.

Students explored scenarios such as hacking motivations, legal consequences, and prevention strategies. Students also discussed the ethics and real-world implications of drone technology and cybersecurity. The discussions sparked curiosity and a deeper understanding of the responsibilities tied to technological advancements.

“The pathway taster session was fantastic. I had the privilege of guiding students through an interactive, hands-on experience of the T-Level, enabling them to connect their theoretical knowledge to real-world applications. By adopting this approach, we maximise our students’ potential, motivating and equipping them for successful digital careers.” – James Phillips, Technology teacher.

Students who attended our session said:

“The school was amazing, I loved it! It was very welcoming.”

“I really enjoyed my experience here and found everything I learnt very interesting.”
