Classics teacher, Lauren, wins Chris Pilcher Up and Coming Teacher 2025. She received the award at the Classics For All Awards 2025 on Friday, June 27th, at the Leeds Royal Armouries.

Congratulations to Our Teacher Lauren!

We're thrilled to announce that our Classics teacher, Lauren, won the Chris Pilcher Award for Up and Coming Teacher 2025. These awards celebrate excellent Classics teaching across the UK.

Lauren with Joe Hobbs MBE, CEO of Classics for All, and Chairman Jimmy Mulville (from Hat Trick Productions).

The Chris Pilcher Award is given annually to one school for outstanding work in bringing Classics to state school students.

To honour his memory, The Chris Pilcher Award is awarded to just one school every year, in special recognition of outstanding accomplishment in bringing Classics to young people in state schools – an endeavour to which Chris himself was amongst the most committed and successful.

This year is the first time it's been awarded to a school outside London and the South-East, which highlights Lauren's efforts at The Studio School. Classics for All were impressed by her application and her achievements here.

As part of the event, attendees visited the new Gladiator exhibition at the Royal Armouries and handled Roman replicas. Lauren also spoke at the event about the CUC and our Classics programme for 2025-2026.

Lauren was also asked to speak at the event about the CUC and the ambitious Classics programme we have in place for 2025-2026.

We're very proud of her dedication to teaching Classics to our students.
