On Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, we proudly hosted our first Scholars Celebration Evening, bringing together families, staff and students to recognise the outstanding achievements of our Scholars from both Ignite and Year 10. The event marked a significant moment for our growing Scholars Programme, celebrating the dedication, curiosity and ambition our young people demonstrate every day.

The evening opened with a fantastic festive performance from our newly formed Scholars Band, who have generously dedicated their free time to rehearse in preparation for the occasion. Their performance set a warm and celebratory tone for the rest of the night.

Presentations began with Mr Nigel Ward, CEO of Northern Schools Trust, who spoke about the Vision for the Scholars Programme, followed by an address from Principal Jill Davies. Both shared their pride in the programme’s rapid growth and the exceptional attitudes of the students involved.

We were honoured to welcome guest speaker Carol-Anna Ryan Palmer, who delivered a powerful and heartfelt talk on the important role parents and carers play in guiding and inspiring young people. Her message resonated strongly with everyone present.

A selection of Scholars then took to the stage to share their own experiences, reflecting on the opportunities, challenges and friendships they have developed through the programme. Their thoughtful presentations were a highlight of the evening, showcasing both their commitment and their maturity.

Following this, each Scholar was invited to the stage to receive their Scholars certificate and distinctive Scholars badge, presented by Scholars Lead, Miss Grattage, who also introduced the incredible work students have been completing so far this year.

The celebration was a wonderful opportunity for our Scholars to be recognised by their families, staff and peers. Their achievements, attitude and enthusiasm continue to impress us, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

We cannot wait to see what they go on to achieve next.
